Hawaiian Honeymoon: Part 1

For the wedding night I just have to give props to my groom for booking an UH-mazing hotel, or mansion I should say. He booked a room at the Dolce Hays Mansion, in San Jose CA.

Isn't it beautiful!!
Now there is a short story to go with this choice of his. When we first met in high school I asked Kevin to go to my junior prom with me (he was a sophmore). The theme was "It had to be you" and was held at this Mansion. It was beautiful, and was our very very first date. So the fact that he thought of this place for our first night married was sooo romantic.

PLUS, it was a 5 minute drive to the airport the next morning. We woke up rather early since we had an early flight. We had room service delivered to our room for breakfast (which we didn't really eat because it was rather early, and we were really excited to board our plane!)

My FIL booked our flights through the airline that he uses weekly, and has a MILLION (well ALOT) points on so we got to fly FIRST CLASS! I was really stoked, and so was Kevin. He isn't a small person and LOVED the extra space he had on the plane. Kevin also really got a kick out of the great meal we had on the plane.

Fun tropical drink on the plane!

After landing in Maui, we found our luggage and headed to the car rental place, for our first andventure. I have a rant coming on the rental place in my next post.

Wedding Pics:)

OMGosh. Today I got our wedding pictures on CD in the mail today!! I have been waiting for this day since the wedding! A major part of the reason I wanted to start this blog was to recap our wedding day for memory sake. I feel like I have already forgotten so many details from the wedding, and years from now I want to be able to go back and read this and remember. Everything.

So in the next week or so I am going to be organizing our 1,000 pictures, yes our photographer gave me over 1,000 edited pictures! After that, wedding recap posts. I am so excited to relive the best day of my life: getting married to my best friend<3

And just for a small teaser, here is my favorite that I've got so far!

4th of July Weekend Recap

The 4th of July has always been a big holiday in my family, due to my Grammy and her love for all things American. Our 4th of July fun when I was a kid consisted of bean bag tosses, sac races, three legged races, all sorts of crafts, a ride in the big wagon with the tractor pulling all of the cousins and of course homemade ice cream with berries!

However, as the years have gone on and the cousins all grown up, the 4th just hasn't been quite as magical as it was in years past. But every year that it comes around I am thankful for those memories. I am also thankful for the freedom that we have as American's.

This year was low key, but always a good time. Kevin and I went to my aunt's house for a BBQ in the early afternoon, then to Kevin's friends house for more BBQ, outdoor games, and of course the fireworks show. I will never forget the 4th of July as a child, and I look forward to providing those fun times for my children. This year was especially fun, however, because it was our first big holiday as Husband and Wife!!

Here's a recap of past 4th of Julys!

2008- none:( Kevin was in Australia for his football trip- I drove him to the airport on the 4th, then watched the fireworks on the drive home!

Introductions

Every blog must start with an introductions post. So here is mine. My name is Jackie, I'm 22, and I live in northern California. I just married my high school sweetheart 2 weeks ago! It was the wedding of my dreams and now we are looking for a place to live, jobs to find, as we move to a new college. We are both going to San Jose State University for the last 2 years of our college careers.

I love everything crafy, DIY, cooking, CHRISTMAS and family related. I am so excited to start a new chapter in my life with my new husband, parter and best friend. WE have waited for this time in our lives for many years, and we are both looking forward to everything the Lord has planned for us.

I wanted to start this blog for my own memories, and because I have been reading so many wedding blogs and wanted to start my own. I hope you enjoy my posts on married life, nesting, fun recipes and more! Enjoy!
