The 4th of July has always been a big holiday in my family, due to my Grammy and her love for all things American. Our 4th of July fun when I was a kid consisted of bean bag tosses, sac races, three legged races, all sorts of crafts, a ride in the big wagon with the tractor pulling all of the cousins and of course homemade ice cream with berries!
However, as the years have gone on and the cousins all grown up, the 4th just hasn't been quite as magical as it was in years past. But every year that it comes around I am thankful for those memories. I am also thankful for the freedom that we have as American's.
This year was low key, but always a good time. Kevin and I went to my aunt's house for a BBQ in the early afternoon, then to Kevin's friends house for more BBQ, outdoor games, and of course the fireworks show. I will never forget the 4th of July as a child, and I look forward to providing those fun times for my children. This year was especially fun, however, because it was our first big holiday as Husband and Wife!!
Here's a recap of past 4th of Julys!
2008- none:( Kevin was in Australia for his football trip- I drove him to the airport on the 4th, then watched the fireworks on the drive home!
